It has been a long time since I have written anything, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t thought of my walk. I have found that it is very easy to become “side-tracked”, and neglect my time with God. You can spend everyday for three months building your discipline of spending time with Him, and miss just one day, then you must begin again.
Our dedication to meet with God is not based on a habit that we build. It is based on a desire to be close to Him. It becomes an obsession to spend time with Him. We can’t help but sit in His presence, read His written word, and feel His Spirit moving in our hearts.
As we spend the time with God, and we grow closer to Him, allowing Him to direct our path, we begin to see things in this world with a little more clarity. We see things the way God sees them. We see people struggling to survive. Some struggle to survive because they don’t know any better. Others struggle because they don’t think that they can survive. And others struggle because they think that they are not worth saving.
As we spend time with God and become more like Him, we see that there is something we can do for these “struggling” individuals. We can show them love. We can show them the grace and mercy that God has given us, through His son, Jesus Christ. We can share with them the hope of tomorrow. We can share with them that God is waiting to welcome them home. He is welcoming them home with open arms.
Take a look at your life. Consider your actions and your conversations. They are evidence of your walk with God. What is the evidence saying to others? Is it causing you and others to struggle? Or is it showing the love of God to other people?
Spend time with God and let Him show you the love for others. Let Him show you those who need Him.
